WALK OFF

On saturday the 62s played 2 games against the reno big horns, Game one was one of the best i have ever seen. In the 8th inning with bases loaded and 2 out Andy mckechnie steped up to the plate and watched strike one and ball one. He had already blew a first walk off by stricking out. now it was time for him to redeem himself. The ball was in the strike zone and McKechnie blasted a walk off grandslam to left feild. The final score was 6 to 3 and the 62s went on to win game to 11 to 7 it was a great weekend for baseball.

Truckee highschool baseball field

Today i went down to the high school baseball Field and was in shock when i found 100 geese just sitting around the Field. With no care at all they leave there remnants of there last meal. Me and my team work very hard on our Field to make it look nice. But there are many problems such as the water system is a bust and floods the Field every day and having a football team on our Field doesn't help either all they do is rip up our Field. It gets worse and worse every day. While the football Field is getting help from our school the baseball field gets no help at all besides from the players and coaches. So I'm reaching out to the community for some donations to help fix our Field.

However we hae 6 or 7 juniors that are glad to play as seniors and win the state championship there final year in baseball. They can lead the team to the finals and battle all the way and this year win and go down in history as the winners of 2011 division 1 baseball!!!!

Next Year

There are plenty of great teams in baseball but i think we can take every single one of them and possibly go undefeated. There is no other team better than us overall and we have the pitching to do it. Not to mention our hitting which is absolutly outstanding. With the coaches we have at truckee our strategies will be unbeatable.

Possible Wood Bats

Due to an accident that happened in the bay area of california the board of directers for baseball in california might force all california school teams to switch to wood bats instead of aluminum. Leagues have used metal for 30 years and this is a rare unfortunate case that has happened. The accident occured when a pitcher had a ball off an aluminum bat come back right at him and connected with him right in the head. the kid went into a coma for 3 weeks. I spoke to a friend that was on this team and the victim of this incident thinks they should stick with aluminum bats.

This Year in Truckee Baseball

Truckee high school baseball is alwasys improving. This year we included a freshman team to our program for the first time ever at Truckee. They were to play division 1 teams from california which proved to be harder than expected. These will be the sophomores of nest years J.V. team and maybe a couple will be moving on to Varsity. Hopefully they will perform to show that truckee isn't just a small town. Our varsity team did that very well this year making it all the way to state, but were not able to manufacture runs in the final game, losing to virgin valley. Next year we will have a great team to take it to state again and this time take home that state champion title.
